Professor of Political Economy at the Law Department, University of Brescia. Head of the Sustainable Innovation Unit at the RFF-CMCC European Institute on Economics and the Environment, Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change. Lead Author of the IPCC, AR6, WGIII.

Elena holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Pavia, a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Arts in International Studies from the University of Washington, Seattle and a PhD in Economics and Finance of the Public Administration from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan

Her main research interest is in applied analysis, with a focus on the dynamics of innovation, technology transfer, green growth, and the economic impacts of environmental and energy policies. Elena has been involved in several internationally funded research projects (such as INNOPATHS, CD-LINKS, ENTRACTE and ICARUS).
